3. My dear LostInAnomie!
I think that if people want to use that thing, then fine. But STFU!

It's a tool, and meant to be used...Why do the rest of us have to hear about it?

I'm with you!

5. I'm sick of hearing about it and I wonder, if some people are so darn insecure that..
..they can't be alone for more than 10 minutes without broadcasting every simple, silly little action that they perform in everyday life.

I don't want (or care) to know what every friend I have is doing every second of the day.

7. There _are_ people that insecure, though.
I don't think cell phones would have become so enourmously popular without such people. Mine will lose a charge before I even remember I own one, yet, I'm thankful to have one at all, as when I use it to send a text to the other side of the world for fifteen cents ;)

Still, I have no use for Twitter, and even as the ones around here go on and on about how great a tool it supposedly is, I would say the majority of the info swapped on it is a worthless waste of bandwidth and energy. Find a way of putting it to use sequestering carbon and I'd be all for it, yet still never use it :P

6. I've been complaning in GD about CNN's near-total reliance on it
They can't go 30 seconds without mentioning the service and/or consulting some of the brilliant anonymoust Tweeters to give context and relevance to the news of the day. :puke:

Just report the goddamned news, CNN; let the viewers decide for themselves what the hell to think.

8. Exactly
I'd be a rich mofo if I had a dime for every time David Schuster mentioned twitter on 1600 Penn. Ave.

10. I dunno.
The only thing I ever hear about Twittering is that somebody or other is Twittering. Is there anything more that can be said on the subject?

11. Try watching CNN or MSNBC at certain times of the day.
You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a twitter reference.

12. Uh-huh.
I was just wondering whether there's ever been anything of substance discussed--something beyond the dropping of the name?

13. Substance? LOL... no.
Schuster used to devote a portion of his show to reading tweets, and CNN devotes huge portions of newscasts discussing them (sometimes they even split the screen for them).
