My picture was in the Sunday paper and I didn't even know about it
Because it wasn't in the online edition. I had to be told about it by a friend of mine who recognized me. Only heard last night.

Anyway, I grabbed a shot of that page with my digital camera, and the link to the picture is below. It was the smaller picture on page 12 of the front section of the San Antonio Express-News, in conjunction with the front page article on Kerry's rally in San Antonio on Saturday. Yes, they gave Henry Cisneros top billing over me, but I'll forgive the editors that one. ;-) (Here's my earlier thread on that rally that I posted in GD2004 a few days ago.)

Page 12. Follow the arrow to see a small version of me.

How cool is it to have a picture of yourself shaking hands with the next President of the United States?

That is so great! Congrats! :bounce:

As I remind myself that envy is not admirable. ;-)

8. Kerry must have spent 15 minutes shaking hands
So it's quite fortunate that the one picture they decided to use was the one where I was involved. And that I'm recognizable in the picture, too.

Strange, but I'll take it. And save it for the scrapbook!

:-)

9. I'd frame it and put it on the wall
I think you can buy the actual print from most newspapers. I've seen a friend's print that she purchased from our local newspaper for about $10 dollars. And yes, I'm still extremely jealous. ;-)

11. I'll have to inquire about that
Thanks for letting me know that that may be an option here.

4. How cool is THAT?
Wow! And look how many people were anxious to shake hands with our next Prez! Compare that to the shrublets bodyguards and unfree speech zones... Make no mistake; there is NO way Bush will win; he won't be able to fix it this time.

I live here. :-)

It's a cool place, definitely, but there are lots of other cool places as well.

13. That's fantastic!
What a moment and to have it appear in the paper on top of that — how exciting! :toast:

It appears you indeed do have your candidate.

I've been offline for a few days, so I'll have to catch up on the thread about the rally.

15. Well, all my other candidates dropped out ;-)
So I take what I can get. I voted for Kerry today after a long road that took me from Al Gore to Howard Dean to Bob Graham to Wesley Clark to John Edwards to ... John Kerry. That's the problem when you like all the candidates, I guess. But a good problem to have.

Check out GD2004, because I saw a thread yesterday about a rally Kerry is having in Chicago this very evening.

16. I know (wyndycty told us about it Sunday)
and I really want to go, but I spent the past two days up in the city and have had some late nights. I really think I need to get some much-needed :boring: :boring: :boring:

The candidate switches merely indicate you are an independent, flexible person. :-)
