My neighbor has a yappy little dog named Portia. Guess how I know?
Because he stands outside my window screaming "Porrrrr-tia! Porrr-tia! PORTIA, you come here NOW!" instead of putting the dog on a leash and walking it like every other resident here with a dog seems to have no problem doing. And don't even get me started on him not picking up his dog's mess! :grr: And then, to top it all off, he leaves the dog alone for about 16 hours a day, so all it does is bark while he's gone.

WTF is wrong with some people? Don't get a dog if you can't be a responsible dog owner. :banghead:

1. Don't just pick up the mess. Leave it on your neighbor's porch.
Bonus points for spelling out the dog's name with the piles of shit.

2. Bad move
He'll think it's an Indigo Dog and spend the rest of his days telling people how smart it is because it can shit out its own name.

3. Oh, that's PERFECT!
Just back him up and tell the neighbors you have WITNESSED the dog shitting out a name - his OWNER'S name - and then whisper "he goes out and rearranges the poop to look like his dog's name".

4. ROFL!
I have considered buying a leash and hanging it on his front door in a plastic bad.

6. While a good idea,
I am NOT picking up after a dog that's not mine. Not my responsibility.

I guess I could use what I've got after I clean the cat box. Hmmm.

7. I could count the times my one dog's been on a leash
But she comes when called the first time.

The other dog never goes outside on a leash, except for a few times he's escaped. He can cover a mile of ground in about 5 minutes.

10. I really wouldn't care about the leash thing if he didn't stand outside my window screaming.
Every. Single. Day.

*sigh*

11. Our one neighbor is like that
She's just a screamer, though. Husband, kids, dogs, neighbors, all get screamed at.

12. I'll top that and remind you that your situation could be substantially worse.
One of my roomies (Republican. Redneck. Racist. Sadly, I've lived with worse. Other roommates I've had in the past made me seriously concerned for my safety. At least I don't have to worry that this one might try to creep into my room and cut my throat as I sleep.) has an obnoxious girlfriend who stays over often enough that I'm tempted to start asking her to chip in on the rent. Girlfriend -- who I'll call Dipshit for reasons soon to become clear -- has a Yorkie. The Yorkie is very sweet-natured, very friendly, but...

...Dipshit has neglected to housebreak the little thing and get a litter box for it. (Tiny dog. Tiny bladder. I don't blame her for not wanting to have to constantly walk it, but honestly, get a damn box.)

Dog pisses on the carpet all the fucking time. Occasionally shits, too. I'm getting very sick of that, and so is one of my other roomies. (Four person apartment, I've already accounted for three of us, and #4 spends almost no time here.)

It also begs at the table, but that's minor in comparison.

If I thought she'd reimburse me for it, I'd buy a litter box and litter tomorrow, but she won't, and I'm a college student. Can't be shelling out $20 on stuff when I won't get it back.

16. I'm sorry you have to deal with that.
It seems to me there are plenty of people that have no concept of responsibility or common courtesy.

Hope it works out for you.

19. Hope it works out for you too.
 back.

Oh, and BTW, I wasn't trying to make it seem like your complaint had less validity because of my situation. I realized after posting that my post could be interpreted that way.

I'd bang my head on the wall, but the stupid thing would start barking again. :(

15. Our neighbor named their dog Walker - yes after GWB.
Luckily they take good care of him. But they are big Bushites.
