Don't forget to remind him not to double-dip the bread sticks.

21. I enjoyed the idea of someone from the Bronx calling other places
"shit holes". It is to laugh.

And yes, I've been to the Bronx.

22. I'd move to the Bronx in a minute
I think by shit hole he meant a small town with no choices. Not unlike where I am.

Hell, DU aside.. I'd shit myself if we rated an Olive Garden. I'd also probably go weekly and post about it for sport since people seem to hate it. :D

I hope to live in one of those small towns again. After all, I can only eat one food at a time.

36. Excuse me
But a recipe is a recipe. If you have a problem with the authenticity of a recipe, that's fine. The ethnicity of the person following the recipe has no relevance whatsoever.

38. LOL!
Damn I miss Porky's down on Winchester. And even though Grady's is a chain, I still dug it. But the Rendezvous? Uh, I have to admit, I'm a wet man all the way. If you're not getting BBQ sauce in your eyebrows, you're not eating BBQ. But try not to hold it against me. :)

I'm living out west now and if you ask 'em for country ham they look at you like you're crazy.

25. I like Olive Garden once in a while (I'm Italian actually -well half)
but I never go there thinking "I want Italian food." I just go there because sometimes I'm in the mood for stuff they serve.

it's much like sometimes I crave Taco Bell, but never at the same time I'm craving Mexican food.

:P

30. Since it would be untoward to post without a follow-up:
We ate there, and it was categorically "meh."

So I asked my father-in-law why he wanted to eat there. At this point I must quote:

"The food's not so good, but look how close to the freeway it is! I mean, on and off, in and out! Perfect spot."

35. That splains it!
I figured it would be something like that.

Last fall I was excited when my godson and his new wife invited us to the Olive Garden because I had read so much about it. I went totally non-judgmental. The verdict: Meh! And it WASN'T cheap! This was in Cleveland and I live near D.C. and there are plenty of places a good bit less expensive and MUCH better in quality.
