Ye, Techie-gods, HALP!1 How do I enable JavaScript?!1

Can't play YouTube links anymore (again, back to my previous Dialup incarnation).

I'm on: Vista. Internet Expl 7.0.

I probably just screwed it all up MORE by Googling "enable JavaScript" and got a link that told me to go to View, Internet Options, click enable for ActiveX.

Unfortunately, there wasn't just ONE do-all place to click: There was a series of separate (questions?), enable this-or-that, all mentioning "Active X" or "scripting" or "scriplets" and such. So I enabled them all.

STILL can't play the YouTube deal. The error message says that EITHER I don't have JavaScript enabled OR I don't have the latest version of Adobe. I have downloaded Adobe over and over with these error messages, so it can't be that?

I actually made my brain work on the link and changed some settings and such by the instructions, but finally what worked was its Uninstall the (all) versions of Flash and Install the latest version.

I've been going weeks of back-to-the-bad-old-days of NOT being able to access audio/video links the way I used to be under dial-up, and your helpfulness means a lot!1

Might as well broaden it to say that over the years I've gotten scores of hints and steering-in-directions from MANY DUers on computer and non-computer issues, so THANKS TO ALL!1
