Least expensive services to ship large items overseas?

I need to ship a 50lbs box to Australia, but USPS online lists the price for shipping at $250 Priority (no more 'sea mail', apparently). Any other services?

Usually someone sends barrels to places. I'm not so sure about to Australia though.
