only 37 but my nana had (without knowing) a heart attack and needed a quadruple bypass, my dad had (without knowing) a heart attack and now has 3 stents, and my mom had flu-like feelings for a week and then dropped dead of a massive heart attack. (It's now thought that she had undiagnosed micro-vascular issues.)

I suspect they will say it is only pleurisy but it doesn't hurt to make sure. So get your vibes on DU! :)

According to the experts, people with heart attack symptoms should not drive to the hospital. Chest pain, shortness of breath, pain radiating to the arm, shoulder, neck require immediate assessment.

Paramedics can administer life-saving steps on site or en route. They can start an IV, check vitals signs, administer emergency meds, use a defibrillator, start an airway, consult with the ER by phone, and much more. You can't get any of that in a car.

Another life-saving measure not mentioned here is the taking of an aspirin at the sign of heart attack symptoms. It's a blood thinner. It can save lives.

I certainly hope for the best for GreenPartyVoter. While we wait to hear good news, I hope everyone else will absorb the lessons. If you have heart attack symptoms, don't wait. Don't drive yourself. Do take an aspirin.

I kissed the pavement a couple weekends ago with about the same symptoms,went to the ER and turned up no heart attack, doc said it was most likely stress and exhaustion that caused it

I felt slight twinges in my shoulder 5 years ago, and thought I'd see a cardiologist just in case,
as my mom had high cholesterol. The guy freaked out, sent me to a cardiac clinic on an emergency
basis (I felt absolutely no pain), and the next morning, the top professor did me, and put in
two stents and said that if I hadn't come in, I might have dropped dead of a heart attack in
a few hours, and I was the luckiest guy in Europe that day.

Take this stuff seriously. If it's nothing, you can always laugh about it later. If you have
a massive heart attack or drop dead, there's a lot less to laugh about. I lost one of my best
friends to a heart attack at age 38, because he thought there was always a little more time
to wait before doing something about it. There wasn't.
