20. Because their lives back in the "real world" were miserable
and because they knew they had something on the island. But right now, being workers, being told what to do - when before they were care free - and living in 1977, they too, may be wondering about that.

5. okay, my brain hurts
Hi,
Well, once again a total mindf*** there. I knew the kid giving the sandwich was going to be Ben, not a surprise. So now there are two Ben's on the islands at the same time, weird. As every episode goes on I just cannot figure out how they are going to conclude the series, let alone figure out wtf is going on to begin with!

Peace

remember, Sun and Frank got to the village when it was long abandoned. Big Ben is in the present.

28. No. Only young Ben
and since they are on different islands, there is not much chance of them running into each other.

10. It's like bizarro world, eh?
Jack the low IQ, menial laborer who has to follow. Sawyer, and upright family man in "law enforcement." Sayid the prisoner vs the jailer and interrogator. Maybe Hurley will wind up being "unlucky"--whatever that means in the Lost universe--and Kate will wind up being decisive when it comes to love.

21. The 1977 wemt throught that white light change
and passed through time.

Remember when the plan finally landed these four were gone?

The others stayed with the plan so they are in the present.

Interesting that both Sawyer, Juliet and Jin, and Jack, Kate and Hurley said that three years have passed since they parted ways but in different decades.

Still not clear how Hurley, Sayid ended up in the airport and why Sayid was handcuffed to Ilana.

All in all, I did not like this episode. I don't like it they being with Dahrma in 1977.

23. scratching head
Hi,
Was this depicted in the show itself or what? Oh wait, on further thought it was not shown directly, but Ben was asked where the rest were after the crash and he said how do you expect me to know? I swear, this thing just messes with my head to much. I'll have to watch it again online I think, even though I know I will still be just as lost as I am now.

I feel like I'm five years old and trying to do the Rubic's cube thing.

Peace

24. I get that
but why didn't the white light take Sun. I understand why it wouldn't take Ben, the female cop, the mysterious dark-skinned guy, the pilot, etc because they weren't part of the original crew on the island. But why not take Sun? She is one of the six.

I liked this episode. I think some crazy shit is going to happen with them stuck in 1977. Something like Tom is Sawyer (though I don't think that is true, but something like that).

29. The whilte light never takes everyone
Edited on Thu Mar-19-09 12:58 PM by question everything
Remember, it took awhile for Locke Sawyer and Juliet to finally get together on the island. But not Bernard and Rose and whoever else was left on the beach.

I think that Sun was left behind so that she would not simply run into Jin. I suspect both will have to travel some bizarre paths to find each other. After all, there is a child back in Korea.

Edited on Wed Mar-18-09 09:45 PM by underpants
Whether he kills Ben or not he can either go with Richard and "The Others" or at least he knows like the survivors what is going to happen and what the island holds. At least he knows the island well. He basically could be a wildcard.

19. The big question- why wasn't Sun "raptured" back to '77 with the rest of the O6?
Despite that, this was a great episode with lots of little Easter eggs.

22. Sun, Ben, and Locke
These three stayed in the plan when it landed.

The other four went through time wrap when the white light came through. Remember, when the plan finally landed. the four were gone, while Sun and Ben were there.

30. Oh yes, a few weeks back
He was sitting on the island, covered with a blanket and wearing a suit. When Ilana asked him why he was wearing a suit, he said that this was how he probably was going to be buried. And then we had the flashback of his traveling in the California, trying to convince the Sixers to go back and Ben "dissuading" him from committing suicide, only to kill him himself.

Finally, when he found unconscious Ben, he said: this is the man who killed me.

Locke, obviously, came to the island with the intact plane, not through the white light time change.

34. I don't know why Sun stayed in 2007, but it's very interesting that
the four who went back to '77 and Dharma (Jack, Kate, Hurley and Sawyer) were the ones on Jacob's list to be kidnapped and taken to the Hydra island a few seasons ago.

Of course, I have no idea what it all means. As usual.

39. Only difference from the others is that she was carrying an item that belonged...
...to one of those who ended up back in 1977. (wedding ring)

That probably doesn't mean anything though.

The last two episodes have convinced me more than ever that the writers are the lost ones.

This is the endgame, after all. It seems the last two seasons have been all about answering lingering questions.

26. Wonderfully intense episode...
Wonderfully intense episode...

Close to the end of the hour when Jack showed up at Sawyer's front door, Sawyer was acting pretty pissy to Jack.. I mean, more pissy than Sawyer's normal pissiness.

I didn't understand why... I mean, Sawyer didn't do it in a way that was meant to advertise his new thing with Juliet to Jack, not was it done in a way that illustrated Sawyer's confusion about Kate being back. It was just kind of odd.

36. He at least convinced himself that he does
If you remember, right before he got the call, in a previous episode, that the three returned, he was talking to someone Horace? about how he loved someone three years ago and now cannot even remember her face.

And, of c course, that face showed up a few minutes later.

I think that he and Juliet built themselves a convenient life which is probably why they never bothered to leave the island with the sub.
