Part of me said "don't do it," but I can handle spam and assholes, and I can vet potential buyers pretty well.
I did change the ad around some, with thanks to those who made suggestions. And since craigslist can get somewhat acrimonious, I made it clear that I did not declaw Angel.
When Angel came to us as a stray, he was thin, torn up, scared -- and declawed. It took a long time for him to get used to us. For now, he's content to live in a big covered box under a table on our deck (the box contains a heated kennel bed). He eats well.
We have other cats, and Angel will have nothing to do with them, growling if they come near. This cat is clearly meant to be indoors, and he should belong to someone with no other cats and probably no children. I get the impression that a chaotic household is not for him. He may take a while to warm up to a new person/people.
Angel is declawed in all four paws (I did not have him declawed; he is a stray). He is FIV/FELV negative and had a rabies shot along with a physical exam on March 14 2009. He weighs 14.5 pounds and is healthy.
I will charge an adoption fee of $68, which is half the vet bill on 3/14/09. I included this photo:
