an hour to three hours ago, it's unlikely she walked out of the hospital. I do hope the reports of her death are premature and exaggerated.

26. Immediate or delayed reaction to a head trauma doesn't indicate the severity of the injury.

I highly doubt she has died, but I do find it reasonable to think she might still be hospitalized.

Edit: Given the Montreal Gazette link below I am beginnning to fear the worst. Yikes!

running into a tree and being airlifted out barely alive.

If one fell backwards (or forwards) in the flats without a helmet it would be possible to hit one's head, even on a bunny hill. It sounds like a freak accident, although there was a similar incident at a local hill (beginner, lesson, fell backwards, hit head, concussed) a few weeks ago.
