I do, if I have the cash on hand.

Most of the time it is candy, or some other shit I don't want. I don't like most sweets, but I figure if they can bust their butts to go door to door, I'll reward them for their chutzpa.

One time, a clearly mentally challenged young adult came here to sell worms. I shit you not. He wanted some extra spending money for treats like soda and snacks. How fuckin' poetic! He was an entrepreneur!

I found out where he belonged, his parents, and called them. Gawd knows he could have come to the wrong door. Oh, and I bought the damned worms.

3. My father insists the ones selling Religion are brainwashed and need a sandwich.
He says the always take the sandwich.

I just close the door in their face.

2. Usually if I've got some money and they are not adults, yes.
Except for last fall when 2-3 people were coming by a day. I had to say no many times.

most of the sales around here are for dinners/plates. I didn't have to cook for quite a few days last year because of so many purchases. Some really good BBQ to inedible "raviolis".

7. Only if it's a neighbor kid
I hate it when vanloads of kids are dropped off to sell things to 'keep them off the streets.' It's a ripoff for the buyers and sellers.

We have a no soliciting ordinance in our city but nobody knows about it and it's never enforced.

14. Yup--only for the neighborhood kids. I had a solicitor-"kid" actually
waiting on my doorstep once knowing I was going to leave the house soon even though I wouldn't open the door.

8. I used to,
when we lived in a neighborhood.

The kids we got were raising money for a school trip or something education related. I feel sorry for them. Back in the dark ages, when I was in school, we had car washes and other ways to raise money that involved us doing it together. My kids had to do the door-to-door selling and it was extremely hard for them. I always remembered that when the kids came to the door.

13. Neighbor kids and adults, yes
If I see a white van following them or driving ahead of them, I don't even open the door.

16. No. I used to until my kids went to school. I had to buy from them
so it seemed a bit of overkill.
