I have a probably big BSG spoiler *SPOILER ALERT*
I've read that this is the VERY LAST SCENE of the series. It may or may not be true. It's from a decent source.

SPOILER SPACE

We see present day NYC.

Super saying,"All this has happened before."

Then, we see a Six walking through a market, DOING AND SAYING EXACTLY THE SAME THING AS THE VERY FIRST EPISODE OF THE SERIES!!!

OOOOO

I read some more spoilers, but those come from an iffy source, and may be foilers.

1. Didja know that:
Some of the scenes from Caprica prior to the bombing were filmed at Simon Frasier University on Burnaby Mtn. in Vancouver B.C. It's one of the most beautifulest college campus's I've ever seen btw. Most of the cityscape BSG scenes from Caprica are filmed there to include that openining scene they show each week where 6 stands there hugging Baltar in his home as the nuke blast rolls in.

Lyon Chaim Green O.C., LL.D. (February 12, 1915 – September 11, 1987) was a Canadian actor, best known in the United States for his roles on two American television programs: the long-running western Bonanza and the shorter-lived original incarnation of the cult classic science fiction franchise of Battlestar Galactica.

9. Yes -- and, my opinion on that
Especially since I just rewatched the first episode again:

I think the killing of the baby was an act of mercy on Cap Six's part, in an odd way. She didn't want the baby to suffer, but rather have a quick, pretty painless death.

(edits for spell check)
While researching Simon Fraser University-Battlestar Gallactica I ran across this item. Apparently a SFU student back in July of '08 with a camera captured a bit of filming for season 4 on campus. The part relates to President Roslin in a pool with a fountain. I do not recall ever seeing an episode which uses this part in it so perhaps it has not aired yet.

13. The "Riverwalk"
Edited on Fri Mar-13-09 12:05 AM by targetpractice
Baltar and Six were strolling in this location in the mini-series. In season 2, Roslin had visions of Baltar and Six meeting at the Riverwalk... The visions were her perspective on the same scene from the mini-series.

In the mini-series... Six left Baltar at the Riverwalk and turned to meet someone off-camera... Six said, "There you are. I never thought you would get here." I think she then hands over the metal briefcase with the military secrets.

I've always wondered who Six rendezvoused with. When Roslin had the visions in season 2 that placed her in the same location... I thought maybe she took the briefcase... and therefore, was a Cylon.

On edit: I'm paraphrasing what Six said to the unknown person.

12. Ugh... I have no willpower...
I didn't want to spoil this for myself, but I did.

This ending could really work for me... or, totally suck... depending upon context.

If Six is walking in a market in present day NYC... Then I hope the implication is that the scene represents the origin of the story. In other words, that Cylons are invented by us (real humans just like the audience) in the near future and they rebel and begin against humans. Human flee Earth to Kobol, start again, build Cylons that rebel, etc.

If the scene you describe is meant to imply that the humans and Cylons in Battlestar Galactica are somehow the ancestors of present day humans... then I'll be totally disappointed.

15. Makes sense ...

Sorta. Not sure on the setting, but the basic premise wouldn't surprise me ... considering where they filmed it.

18. where did you read that?
If you're right about this (I'm hoping you're not), then the series is completely ruined and all 4 season were pointless. It couldn't be a bigger cop-out than that if the camera went blurry then zoomed out on Bob Newhart in bed...

20. Not really a spoiler
Using the Bob Dylan song All Along the Watchtower identifies the timeline as being our own future one "cycle" of history from now.

I also think that they are setting the stage for at least two possible sequels in addition to Caprica -- one based on the previous existence of the Cylons, and the other for the future of the fleet's people on the new/old colony. The life-after-death motif can be used as well.

It's also possible that it will be revealed that everyone is a Cylon -- just from different cycles of history. We MAY see Zack Adama, Callie Henderson-Tyrol, Felix Gaeta, Tom Zarek, etc., being resurrected next week.

Or maybe not. But the historical idea of "Eternal Return" is such a strong theme that it's a very likely possibility.

21. Not sure how this would fit in with the fact that the abandoned Earth
..after they found it.

It seems like saying "just kidding! That wasn't really earth, would screw up more than few plot lines..."

Who knows? I'm happy to watch and see! :)
