New Pro and the elderly
Today I was putting a ten dollar bill in my newly diagnosed with Alzheimer's Mom's purse for church money when I noticed an ATM slip for 20.00 dated yesterday. She has no car so I asked her who brought her to the bank yesterday. She hesitated to say so I asked, "did you ride your broom" to make her laugh. Then she said "the New Pro man". I asked her where the paperwork was. She said in the safe.

Here's what she said happened yesterday. They called to ask if they could come to her house. She said "ok". At the house, they told her they could replace her gutters and downspouts for $4223.00 She said she couldn't pay the down payment because she had no checks. So she got into his car with him and went to BOA and got him a bank check for $1393.00.

Today I went to that bank to stop payment on the check but it was already cashed. I talked to Newpro who said they will refund her money if I send the cancellation papers within 2 days. I just overnighted it registered mail- along with my power of attorney papers and a note to never contact her again. We are considering bringing this to a lawyer and the Mass. attorney general.

Here's the thing. After New Pro did sold her windows last year, we told them never to contact her again. These salesmen are over the top. My feeling is this should be illegal--seems like almost kidnapping. I'm outraged and finally calm enough to write this letter.

1. I think you're in the right with contacting the AG.
Give 'em a shout. They're not too keen on the whole exploiting-the-elderly thing and have probably gotten other complaints. The more information they have, the sooner they can take care of these scumbuckets.

2. I would definitely contact the Attorney General's office.
If they're repeatedly targeting a woman with Alzheimer's then they need to hear from the state. x(

Anyone who would do this is a predator.
