Poll question: Great piece of art...or not

Ok fine, it's a sucky cell phone pic, but you get the idea. Charcoal on toned paper with white oil paint.

5. Hopefully, you will continue to draw
Did I ever tell you what happened when I took an advance drawing class?

9. My self-portrait was so bad (and didn't look anything like me)
I learned from one of my classmates that the instructor removed it from the wall, threw it in the trash & said, "That's where it belongs."

It was in high school. I never really attempted drawing, seriously, again. Many years later I learned it is one sign of low self-esteem when someone cannot draw a self-portrait well. Wish I'd known that many years ago!

14. That is total crap
Not everyone can draw...many people with healthy self-esteem can't draw themselves to save their lives. I could probably pull off a decent likeness of myself and well...hmmmmmm self-esteem isn't exactly my thang.

You should try again. I didn't seriously try to create art until way past high school.

18. The part I believed is...
some people, with low self-esteem, cannot draw a self-portrait in their own likeness. It made sense when I read the article, anyway.

21. I guess I can understand the concept
Since those of us with low self-esteem see ourselves in a rather skewed view. What I see in the mirror is probably vastly different than what everyone else sees. Therefore my artistic rendering of myself probably would look nothing like me to everyone else.

What is your next one? More boobies?

Models seem a little on the female side. Or do you not show us your manly men drawings here in the Lounge? :D

I see improvement and, I bet the teacher does as well. Let me know your grade. You might just get that "A" this time. Seems, I remember a little "-" that was bothering you last semester.

11. So far 2 of you SUCK!
And I shall despise you forever.

Same goes for the rest of you who will no doubt vote in the negative.

All I have to say to you is...

Damn it, you'd have to be able to see me to see my amusing insult. It involves a lot of finger movement and fart noises. Use your imaginations, which obviously you would lack anyway.

I fart in your general direction. :P

after the charcoal drawing so I couldn't erase the lines. I'll try to draw lighter next time.

Your proportional representation needs a little adjustment, but all in all a fine work.:applause:

35. Her arms and legs.
Both her visible upper arm and upper right leg seem to be disproportionately long. Small thing, but as an ex carpenter scale is something that catches my eye.
