I went to a sing along Fiddler on the Roof showing today. It was OK. The theatre was not full, maybe a little under half full. The audience sang along with the popular songs in the movie but not all of them. Now I LOVE Fiddler and know almost every word of dialogue so the sing along thing didn't live up to what I expected. I think I expected people to get up and dance when Tevye sings, "If I were a rich man" but they did not. Too much Rocky Horror I guess.
Well, my favorite character in Fiddler is Perchik (played by Paul Michael Glaser of Starsky and Hutch fame). Not only does the character have EXCELLENT politics but PMG was hot in that movie (as well as in S&H).
So, have any others folks been to one of these sing along viewings of movies? What was your experience? What was the movie sing along?
