The Best Concert Review I've Ever Read
Smashing Pumpkins can officially suck it - Post concert review
Category: Events

11/18/2008 Dan "The Urban Truckster" m. says:

Just got home from this show....... I haven't written a review in over 6 months but I left with the need to let people know about something...

Let me take a moment to tell you just how unbelievably TERRIBLE the show was.

I've been to 70-80 concerts in the last ten years and unfortunately I have to say this was the WORST show I've seen from any band of any size or attribute. I've loved the Pumpkins through most of their various incarnations over the last 2 decades, and I don't know if they are trying to find a new direction or what, but I can not stress to you enough how utterly terrible the show was.

I hate to break the news, but if you've already bought tickets my best advice is burn them or sell them. And I am not joking. Don't waste your time. Maybe in a few years they will realize what a horrible mistake they've made and go back to putting on good shows, but for now please for your own sake do NOT put yourself through this horrible torture.

If you're still reading.... Why did I hate the show to such an extreme degree? Well, let me tell you. I truly got the feeling that about 1/3 of the way through the show they just basically wanted to see what they could get away with.
They played a terrible terrible rendition of some older Pink Floyd tune, then went into what seemed like a 12 or 13 year long acid-trip guitar twang mish mash and ended it by playing Kazoo's and telling us all that Chicago is not his fan base and that not only do we not support them, we make Billy feel like we are "that old ex-girlfriend that stole (his) money and then left us after we told (him) we loved him." It was strangely ironic that I felt that he had completely ripped me off since I paid $100 for tickets to see this train wreck.

Truer words are rarely said in public.

3. Well what did he expect?
Smashing Pumpkins are one of the worst bands ever. I saw them at lallapalooza in the 90's and even being on acid did not make it any more tolerable. Awful, awful drek.
