John Lennon
I still remember how Lennon caused so many ripples during Vietnam - what a shame he isnt around now. Can you imagine what he would have done to help topple slime bag?

1. U2 - Bono helped bring down 41
but I think that they will sit out 2004 - Bush fights AIDS in Africa.

John Lennon would be awsome!

are very familiar with Bush's lip service.

13. He gives everything lip service, except his corporate buddies who
get, ahem, more...

Bush likes to say things that appeal to people, but then follow through as loosely as possible. That way he can still say he supports them, although it is clear he doesn't give a damn. Add in all his quotes and it's so easy to form a pattern as to what he does and does not care about, it's amazing freepers like that filth*.

2. I think that same thought every morning
when I wake up.

Every morning.

But I guess we are all here in his place, right?

The only contemporary rock star that I can think of that would even come close now is Bono Vox from U2.

And Bono would probably be pretty cheesed that I just said that.

"Look at the bird with the leaf in her mouth..."
- from U2's Beautiful Day.

3. The slime
wouldn't have been here this long! With enough songs, the people would've been motivated instead of sleeping.

4. I am personally missing Frank Zappa
more each day. Shrub would still be a piece of shit, but Zappa was not afraid of ridiculing the powerful and holding them up to the light of their hypocritical policies. There are few people with his ability to make Repugs look not only greedy but foolish too.

5. Lennon Remembers(part2)
John is still here. Every time you hear one of his beautiful songs, it's the message. And the message is that the group of people needs to exercise the "power" in their own lives. It's okay to look to Elvis or Zimmerman or some other "leader" when you're a teenager, but it's time to be adults now. Changing the world can only be accomplished by changing ourselves: we must change to master change. Of course, it would be great to hear his "new" music were he here, just for the enjoyment. But songs like "Imagine," "Power to the People," and "Working Class Hero" are just as good and true as when he wrote them. (Just writing this makes me feel like calling up David Peel!)

14. I loved that man
one of the most stirring experiences of my life (& I've had many)
was being in Central Park after his death for five minutes of silence in his remembrance. It was packed and everyone was weeping. It was very intense. He is so dearly missed.

peace John!

10. Hmm - by now he would have been a US citizen.
A man chooses to make his home in the United States, shows his love for the country by fighting to remain here (nearly losing his wife in the process), and shows his interest in our political processes by actively expressing his opinions and encouraging citizens to vote.

And we kill him.

15. Him and Ghandi. MLK. Jesus.
The kennedys. We're really good to killing people who say "Hey, wouldn't it be great if we all just got along?"

But the people who say "That gruop should be hated", they get corproate and government funding and live to ripe old twisted sour days.
