Dork.... J/K I love mine since I got it 6 months ago. I can watch TV and read up on my favorite sites (like DU) all without even turning my head. Do you have one? Don't you wish you did?

2. Gonna get one soon...

... my TV is dying and I'm prolly moving into a smaller place soon, so my desk is going to have to double as the entertainment center.

How does it work at full screen?

4. i got an ASUS TV Tuner
great picture as long as you have a strong, clear signal and a nice sized monitor. Do some research and get an internal card. So much better than a USB P.O.S.

6. Does it only pick up local programming?
In Dayton, we might get 3-4 regular stations and thats it.....Is it work it?

I'm getting roadrunner this week which is part of my Time Warner Cable. Could I get that on my laptop? I'm also getting that LINX thing so I can be online wireless with my laptop within a 150 mile radius....

I'm learning......

7. I think it tunes the unscrambled stations
i.e., anything under HBO. But if you really want your monitor to be a TV you can just get a (RCA|S-video)->VGA adapter and switch between computer-TV inputs.

8. why?
a decent VGA/RCA adapter is at least 100 bucks. I got the ASUS PCI card for 60 and it has both RCA and SVideo inputs.

9. depends what you've got
A standalone TV->VGA costs about the same as a cheap video card with inputs, but if you already have a decent AGP card it's cheaper to add an adapter than swap it out for the next model up. But maybe I was the only early adopter on the input-less GeForce 4.

10. Great information!!!
Thank you...I really don't want to overspend...Got to make a cost effective choice....It really is hard as there are so many options. I work a lot and really need my fix....If I have acess to my fix, I can then work onertime. ( I supervise and have office time if I have enough staff on the floors. :)
