4. It's a very Italian thing...
...when I grew up in Massachusetts, my parents' pizza parlor of choice was in Beverly. It was 100% Italian, a real hole-in-the-wall, no chain store. The pizza had a traditionally thin crust, light sauce, cheese, and a little oregano on top. That was it.

As an adult, those pizzas are a fond memory. There is a place on Stevens Creek in San Jose called "A Slice Of New York." The owner is a former NY firefighter who relocated to Silicon Valley for business and was saddened to learn that he couldn't find a decent NY-style "slice" anywhere, so he opened his own place. It's a tiny place but it's always jam-packed. Every once in a while I will go there and get a cheese slice. The full pizzas are better because they are hot out of the oven. Individual slices are put back into the oven to re-heat them. They still taste good but not nearly as good as if they had just come out of the oven for the first time.

6. I liked Gumba's by the Sunnyvale Town Center mall.
I wonder if it's still there. It's been 15 years since I lived in that area.

7. Seems to be...
...I avoid the Town Center area like the plague because of the "perpetual construction war zone" surrounding it...I drive down Mathilda on occasion but haven't gone into the thick of what used to be the Town Center for a while.

"Jatbar"...the "Jason & Terry's Bay Area Review" Web Site, which has 1000+ reviews of restaurants from San Francisco to San Jose...has a review, with photos. They gave it an 8.5 rating out of 10:

8. It's the best test
If you can't make a plain pizza taste good, then adding expensive toppings won't matter.
I love a good margherita pizza

2. Where's the Kashi pizza?
We saw it on sale at the store a couple of weeks ago, so I bought the Margherita variety and brought it home.

It's delicious. The crust is great. It's more like a snack, but seriously, it's very good.

We've never tried Amy's.

12. yeah i'm not a big of their frozen pizza. I've been to the restaurant a few times and that
was better but really the pizza in the state of California pretty much sucks, i usually wait until i fly back east and then it's pizza and fried clams with bellies for the whole trip. I stopped eating meat so i guess next time i'll have to skip the clams.

10. frozen pizza is all dependent on one's shitty oven and/or shitty abilities to read directions
Most frozen pizza is good as long as one isn't an imbecile.

11. Stouffer's French Bread Pizza
reliably good for crust and toppings. I don't mess with others, but DO visit Cal. Pizza when I can.

13. lol.......I have no taste
My favorite is Jack's Original Thin Crust Cheese pizza. Then, I slice Roma tomatoes and onions for the topping and bake it at about 300 to 325F for an hour. Have to do it that way, because the fresh veggies and the frozen pizza cook at different paces.

But, that's just me.
