What does one wear to a divorce hearing?
I was thinking of going with a T-shirt that says "I Am No Longer With Stupid", but that just seems mean.

6. Something beautiful and flattering
but still appropriate to the courtroom setting. The idea is to make him realize what an idiot he was to lost you.
A prior poster's idea of wearing a smile is great. It's a way to let him know that you are way past him and just ready and willing to move on to the next stage of your life.

15. I just wish I would have planned ahead when I packed for my escape
I took plenty of casual clothes but none of my business attire. Thankfully oshy and I are about the same size so I can wear something of hers (provided it goes with one of the two pairs of dressy shoes I managed to pack), somehow buying a new outfit just for this purpose seems like a bad investment.

9. I don't know anything about divorce hearings, but I'd say that any trip into a court room
requires an outfit that shows respect for the setting - conservative (the good kind) business attire would be my bet.

Messing with the ex would be fun, but pissing off the judge would not be...

12. Modest business attire. There are children involved in your situation,
and I wouldn't take even the slightest risk of the judge misperceiving who you are and what you're about.

Good luck! My divorce hearing went by in a snap -- my ex-husband didn't even show up. It was just me, my attorney, my ex-husband's attorney, a bailiff, a court reporter and the judge. The time I spent waiting for my docketed slot was far, far, far longer than the five minutes or less I spent on "the stand." :hi:

14. Good to hear...
mine is tomorrow at 3:30 and I am already throwing up over it even though I know that my atty. has already hashed everything out with the ex and there is nothing to be contested. I just wish it were over already because I have a feeling I am going to be in panic mode until it is

16. No more throwing up, okay? You need to be well-nourished and calm
to counter tomorrow's stress. You're gonna be just fine. If you're miserable in your marriage and you've tried to work it ou, you're doing the best thing for yourself and your children -- and doing the best thing for yourself and your children is something to be proud of, to take ownership of. Walk tall tomorrow, fellow redhead. The truth is this: the only thing in life that you can EVER hope to truly control is your REACTION. You get your reactions handled and you've pretty much got life handled.

18. Thank you Heidi...
my body seems to be rebelling against rational thought right now but I will get it together, I kind of don't have a choice about that. It was good to have someone remind me of that.

Have a nourishing meal tonight, not too heavy but not too light, either; then, snuggle your little ones and sleep well. :pals:

Be on party manners, and it will soon be over and you can start to forget about it.

Oh, and seriously, good luck.
