Hate country, but I've been in the mood for some western cowboy tunes

Marty Robbins--"Big Iron" Arizona ranger with a big iron on his hip rides into town looking to get Texas Red FUCK YEAH

Marshall Tucker Band -- "Desert Skies" great cowboy tune http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kWhPZBkRVA
3 more MTB tunes

Hugo Montenegro -- The Magnificent Seven

Michelle Shocked -- Weavin' Way OH WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT HERE
THIS AINT COWBOY SHIT GOT TO REMOVE HER BITCH ASS

2 by Frankie Laine and 2 more Marty Robbins

Couldn't resist the narwhal reference when I saw Michelle Shocked on the list. It still cracks me up when I think of it.

43. Now, I just finished listening to American Idol
Edited on Wed Mar-04-09 09:06 PM by mvd
So happy with the judges' choices - don't remember Matt and am unsure about Anoop after his bland performance - but they did better than America's voters did. I was happy with all three voted through tonight, though.

Very anxious to hear Jesse again. She really does have a fresh kind of voice.

Earlier, I listened to U2 - No Line On The Horizon.

49. Tatiana deserved another chance for sure
I thought she was just attention seeking, but she has a voice. I agree about Jesse - "Bette Davis Eyes" is a hard song to do as well, but Jesse showed tons of potential. I think Megan also has a chance to do well if chosen - she's pretty cute, too.

Speaking of Idol, I'm anxious for Brooke White's CD. She was my favorite from last season.

50. I'm not a fan of Brooke's first single
I thought she was pretty good last season but I didn't love her. She was definitely one of the better contestants though. I didn't really love anyone last season. I spent most of the time rooting against David Cook, my least favorite American Idol ever.

Edited on Thu Mar-05-09 09:19 PM by mvd
Jesse was the one I wanted in the most! I actually liked her other performance more because the song was better, but she has a voice I really connect with.

I thought the song was too big for Jasmine, and Anoop was fair. Matt and Megan were good choices.

Another thing: Tatiana is creepy. Not as annoying as Kristen, but weird.

Next 10 on my itunes:

"Let It Out (Let It All Hang Out)" by The Hombres
"Don't Ask Me Why" by Billy Joel
"Hero Takes a Fall" by The Bangles
"It's Not Supposed to be That Way" by Willie Nelson
"I Make a Fool of Myself" by Frankie Valli
"David Watts" by The Kinks
"Me and Baby Brother" by War
"Diamonds and Rust" by Joan Baez
"Catch a Wave" by The Beach Boys
"Easy Lover" by Phil Collins featuring Phillip Bailey
"Save Your Kisses for Me" by The Brotherhood of Man

I seem to remember Phil Collins and Billy Joel being particular favorites of the DU Lounge, right? haha

ON EDIT: I wrote next ten but actually included eleven and am anal-retentive enough that this bugged me! Oh well, it allowed me to reveal the fact that my music collection includes one of the corniest British pop songs of the mid-'70s. :-)
