3. Had to walk in the blizzard for 30 minutes
Dr's appointment. Pre-op, so O had to make it, or postpone surgery.

But, hey, this is New England...

4. Good and bad
I'll most likely forgo a day's pay this week and the snow amount and the fact that the temps won't be below freezing this week will make my job harder. However, knowing that I wouldn't be working today, I was able to stay up until 1ish to work on my take home exam and finished 31 out of the 32 questions. The last question is worth about %25 of the grade and the work involved will reflect that. I still have until 5:30 pm on Wednesday so I feel confident.

I also moved both vehicles to a garage before the storm so I won't have to shovel. Our private spot was crappily plowed out and tonight a worker shoveled out some of the mess (it's still a tough spot but not as bad). The other car is parked on the street and the plows did an awful job as usual. They only plow the middle of the street and don't even attempt to plow out spaces missing cars. :eyes:

18. It is probably impossible to plow between parked cars
Lucky you were able to move the cars to a garage. Most of my cars don't or won't move (dead in driveway)!

Good luck on your exam--I'm starting to realize just how hard it is to work and go to school (I'm doing online school for IT). There aren't enough hours in the day or night, it seems.

7. Got the day off from work
so not bad but there was a damn lot of snow to shovel and the street plow managed to throw that slushy, salty mix from the street back onto the sidewalk in front of my condo right after I shoveled 5 inches of fresh fall.

I seriously was driving for half an hour at one point without seeing another car (I'm not counting the cop car).

9. Not too big a deal
Our city meetings were cancelled, so I got an unexpected night off. I'll have to pitch my Green Buildings task Force next week.

The roads are better now, so Mrs. SoxFan was able to get up to Concord (that's "KONG-kud" to you flatlanders)for work.

To get to work in Kong-Kud and my supervisor and at least one co-worker wimped out. Actually, I don't blame them. It was pretty bad this morming coming down 106.

16. Meh- about 1 hr of shoveling.
The trouble came later when the snow squalls redeposited snow on the roads. All the local towns
are so broke they don't send the plows out until they get 4" or so.

All I can say is: Thank god for limited-slip differentials and ABS!

17. Luckily, I had the day off
Looks like we got about 12" here in CT. My brother usually shovels the driveway from hell for me, but he is in New Hamster with little sister and family. So, I guess I had better get my old lady ass out there and shovel before my night shift starts!

26. Meh, ten inches, a foot maybe.
It's New England, it's winter, it snows.

It'll start to warm up in a couple of weeks. Then we have black flies and mud to look forward to.
