President Obama has put me out of a job, and I'm glad
Okay, I'm not glad I don't have a job, and I liked the one I had. But our business revolved around making training environments for the military, business has fallen off dramatically since President Obama was elected--the military just stopped buying shit all of a sudden--and now I need to find something else.

I have a skill set that's not to be believed, so I don't think I'm going to have a huge problem getting work, plus we have SOME money set aside. We'll be okay.

2. Some trucking companies are still hiring
I know how to get you hooked up with a CDL and a job. :)

Losing a job sucks no matter what you do for a living. I wish you well.

4. I've heard mixed things about them
It seems like it could be a good place to start, but also a place you'd probably want to leave after you have put in your obligation to them for footing the bill for your CDL. That's the way it is with most companies who pay for your training. They are known as training companies. You probably won't want to spend your career there, but it's a good place to start if you don't have the cash or credit to foot the bill for your CDL. Other companies that are like that: CRST, P.A.M., Transport America, and Werner.

If you do have the means to pay for your CDL without obligation to a company, your opportunities broaden for someone just starting out.
