Good morning Lounge
How are you today? How was your weekend?

So I had my b.day and housewarming party Saturday. It was so much fun ... that I forgot to take pictures. Also, the food was gone before I could get out my camera. So you just have to believe me :D

Yesterday I went to an exhibition about the Deep Sea. It was fascinating. They showed mummies of fishes that live in the deep sea and explained them, they also explained expeditions to the deep sea. It was a great exhibition. Even though I had to wait an hour outside to get in. And the weather wasn't the nicest. At least it didn't rain :)

1. Good morning, Miss H
I didn't do anything special last weekend. Caught up on chores and visited with friends and family. I do have someone that's interested in me on the dating site I go to, so I guess that's kind of special. We'll see how it goes. I definitely need to get out more on the weekends. Nicer weather might help motivate me. Still cold here.

6. Happy Monday MissH
That exhibit sounds interesing.
I would have loved it.
I went to a concert Saturday night
I saw the Pretenders. She sounded awesome.I have been a big Pretenders fan for a few decades.
http://backtorockville.typepad.com/back_to_rockville/2009/02/review-pretenders.html

"On a night when she and her fellow Pretenders confessed they were in the throes of skull-cracking hangovers, Chrissie Hynde and her band sang an ode to tequila. They also performed "The Last Ride," Hynde's tribute to Dr. Bob Smith, who co-founded Alcoholics Anonymous in her native Akron, Ohio.
Her Dr. Bob tribute was sincere; so was her repentance for the night before (Step 10, isn't it?): It wasn't very professional of us, she apologized, but don't worry; we'll get there. By "there" she meant the rock/punk frenzy her band is famous for.
She wasn't kidding. During a thoroughly entertaining 95 minute show at Ameristar Casino Saturday night, about 1,100 mostly middle-aged fans took a rollicking tour of the Pretenders Hall of Fame catalog, and Hynde proved emphatically that she is still the queen of rock chicks."

She is almost 58 and she still was extremely cool and a bit sexy honestly.

7. Good morning MissH!
I was confident that you'd have a grand time at your party, and that you guests would have a fabulous time too. You are a super hostess. And don't fret about the pictures. It's more important to be with your guests.

The exhibit sounds like something down my alley. I would have loved to see it. A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of listening to Edith Widder, an internationally recognized biologist and expert on deep-sea exploration. Super fascinating topic, and she is a great speaker. There's a lot to learn about the deep sea, lots to be discovered, lots to protect.

Oh, my weekend was short. Had to work for a couple hours yesterday - nothing difficult, but it took me away from home anyway.

:hi:  :loveya:

Yeah, working on the weekend sure cuts the time short, but right now we do what we must and don't complain. I'm sure you understand.

We did get snow on Saturday, but haven't had a chance to upload my pics yet. But they're going to look similar to my other snow pictures. ;)

I got compliments and thanks today again for the party and my condo :D

Go to my answer to AirmensMom. I put a link there to some pics of the exhibition. It is in German only though.
It was very interesting. It is a nature one barely knows anything about. So it was fascinating to have a sneak view. So much still to discover and the people are already destroying it, without caring about the nature. It is sad.

24. Thanks. I checked out the
link in AirmensMom's thread. The fish are luminescent fish, and you can't imagine how bright they become. Not only do they use the light to see, but they also use it for protection purposes, and to warn other fish of danger. Yes, the study of deep sea creatures is a fantastic topic. Glad you were able to see the exhibit.

I'm SO glad you had a nice party! :bounce: I thought about you all day long, hoping it was so.

Yesterday's adventure sounds interesting, too. Do they have a website so we can see some pics? :bounce:

LOVE that pic! Reminds me of the wonderful time we had that day. And remember we came home and discovered that the big tree in the woods had fallen down? (OK, it wasn't funny then ...)

Before you even ask, yes, your baby had his birthday party and had "salmon" for a cake. He's walking tall and proud now and really thinks he's something. He's right. :loveya: Two years old must be a milestone in kitty-dom.

Yes, that was a great day. Even though the weather wasn't the best. It was so cool when the clouds cleared and gave away their secrets.
Did you ever get the tree taken away?

Well, he is a youth now. Not a baby anymore. Its like he turned 18 or so :D

Thanks! I'd sure hate to meet those guys at the beach. :scared:

Days like that are better because everyone else stays home. I doubt we'll ever be able to have it as much to ourselves again as we did that day.

Harleydad works on it now and then. Most of the brush is gone now, so will at least be able to mow this summer. The big part is still there, with all the other little trees down near the cave. We might have to hire that part to be done.

He's the big man on campus for sure! :bounce: Did you like his clock kitty picture?

No, I haven't been able to read anything lately. :( It's still in my cabinet right where I can see it. I started on two other books about a year ago and will have to start them over again to figure out what's going on. I need a vacation!

I liked it, too. And when I come to visit you, you can take me to some fun places. Wait till I get a new camera though. :P

I had a fabulous weekend. I walked around downtown a bit, attended my first meeting of an activist group I just joined, and jumped for joy when Sean Penn won best actor.

This morning? Eh, I'm okay. There was a fire in the building attached to ours yesterday (nobody was hurt), and now the water pressure is messed up. I wanted to take a nice hot shower, but can't. Annoying.

Gorgeous pic, by the way.
