7. While funny, the movie buys into a racist social darwinian conception of evolution

Social Darwinism has latched onto some racist presumptions about the genetic inheritance of intelligence. If you ever stumble across current racial supremacist websites, you'll find a theory of human intelligence that pretty much matches up with Idiocracy's premise. I've had a couple of otherwise intelligent friends say that they were afraid that's where the human race is headed because of how Jerry Springerfied pop culture is becoming, as if dumb people don't ever have intelligent kids.

But that said, it's a fucking hilarious movie.
