My Mom, who will be 92 on Sunday the 15th, isn't doing well
We had to put her in the hospital a week ago for a kidney infection and infections in her legs, which became swollen from fluid accumulation. She didn't want to "bother" my Sister or I. God she is a tough broad. She and I have talked about this a lot over the past few years, her friends are all gone, my Dad died 25 years ago, so she is ready to move on. She is sharp as a tack, and she wishes she was in an age where they could transplant her brain on a younger body.

Some good thoughts, prayers for her comfort, and hope that things will be ok no matter what the outcome.

Thanks.

21. Hubert Humphrey was a hero of mine growing up
And he was the reason I became a Liberal/Democrat. I realized in my youth that a man like him was about what 'doing good' meant in life. And he was a favorite of my Mom's too. There has not been a politician like him since, except for Barack Obama, who's time has come, and I am glad both myself and my Mom got to see this moment in time.

Thanks for the prayers.

She sounds like my mom, who's 84 and still working part time. These tough broads are so admirable, aren't they?

Funny story you might experience with your mom one day: Many years ago, when my grandfather broke his hip by falling on a patch of ice (on his daily walk to the grocery store--at 94 years old!), my mom got him into the nursing home she worked at for rehab. He refused to eat in the dining room. When she asked him why, he said, "I don't want to eat in there with all those old people! They drool!" Those "old people" were quite often 20 years his junior.

16. One police call was enough for me to quiet down. I was playing my music loud at my parent's house.
Nobody else was home and I figured the neighbours couldn't hear because all the window were closed. Well they police drove by and flashed their light right into my living room. I turned the music way down. That was enough for me. The embarrassment.
