Glhaargh! Economy's in the tank & my school still can't find a flippin history teacher!

History teaching gigs are like the easiest damn spots to fill in high school. History teachers stay in their slots longer than any other teaching field cause it's supposed to be the "easy" subject for the kids to get. And yet the boneheads who run my school can't find anyone to come in and fill this open position. We've gone through four teachers and 3 "permanent" subs for this one position since December. It's pathetic. They seem to excel at hiring flakes. I thought there was a job shortage out there.

Of course the lack of consistancy is killing the kids in those classes, not to mention the extra workload I end up with as the designated "go to" guy for coming up with a second set of workable lesson plans for these classes that I don't even teach. The current sub--sweet as she is--is simply not ready to prepare world history lessons.
