My Son the Activist!
Edited on Fri Mar-05-04 05:55 PM by jedicord
My "baby" is 10 years old and in 5th grade. His school had the 5th graders do a Wax Museum project, where they picked an American to research, write a report on, and portray. He picked Mark Twain. His quote for the Wax Museum was "Pretend you're an idiot. Pretend you're a member of Congress. But I repeat myself."

His report on Mark Twain used the quote "Don't let school interfere with your education." (OK, he won't be getting an A)

The point is, he didn't know who his best friend picked. Last night was the presentation, and I found his friend, and horrors, he came as G. Whiz Bush. Afterward, I told my son, and his reply? "Oh no! My best friend is now my worst enemy!"

That's my boy!

1. What a son!
You're obviously doing a great job in educating him. Give him a pat on the back on my behalf.

2. See my tagline?
We discovered that Mark Twain had political views which are relevant today. He's even running for President this year! Go to http://www.twain2004.com/. Here's his stance on Foreign Policy:

"It is easier to stay out than get out."

And my boy gets it! (drives his dad crazy, though)

3. Any ten year old who's a fan of Twain is all right by me.
To this day, I thank my 9th grade Lit teacher for turning me on to him.

Thanks, Miss Lindsey! Wherever you are, I know that you still ROCK!
