Injured deer stops by PetSmart Vet Clinic, gets treated and goes on its way.
ROSSFORD, OH -- An injured deer surprised workers at a pet store Saturday morning when it wandered into the rear of the store and laid down on the store room floor, police said.

Sergeant Todd Kitzler, Rossford Police Department, says officers were called to Pet Smart, 27161 Crossroad Parkway, after workers found the deer bleeding on the floor.

The officers thought that they might have to euthanize the wounded deer. However a veterinary team that works at the store decided to treat it. The deer remained calm while the team treated its leg and gave it antibiotics.

A short time later the deer got to its feet and ran from the store into a rural area.
-----------------------------------
I heard they stitched the wound and gave it antibiotics. Poor dear deer, I hope it will be ok. Saturday was the first warmer day here and I think the thaw is bringing them out. We counted 12 the other day after a buck crossed the road in front of us to get to a herd in a field of corn stubble.

There are a couple pictures at the link. BEWARE for those who are sensitive, one picture does show some blood.

4. That shoplifting dog was cute. Did you hear she was identified and came forward to pay?
She also had to travel close to 6 miles one way to steal her bone. She probably thought she wouldn't be recognized.

12. I wonder if she was embarassed.
I can't help but think that since she's been there twice that she'll be back again for another bone.

13. I'm amazed it stayed calm during treatment.
It's pretty cool that it picked the right store to visit.

7. I hope that deer heals and remains healthy.
:)

That's a smart deer if it knew what it was doing, going to that place. Maybe it saw lots of other animals (pets) going in and out store and figured that's where you go when you're hurt.

14. I do too ThomCat..
I wonder if it smelled other animals too. There are a tremendous amount of big box stores and traffic in that area but Pet Smart has more open space and sits near open fields.
