Poll question: Favorite David Lynch Movie
Okay, Friday afternoon...I need entertainment (just ONE HOUR TO GO!!!).

Favorite David Lynch movie...feel free to explain why you like it...
Although not a fan fave, my favorite is "Twin Peaks:Fire Walk With Me"...I agree there are problems with it, but it's the one that always freaks me out the most (probably because I was such a fan of the TV show).

1. Blue Velvet.
Saw it on Hollywood Blvd at the El Capitan theater when it first came out. It was nearly midnight when we walked out of the theater. We kept looking behind us as we stolled to the car thinking Dennis Hopper might be creeping up from the shadows.

The scene with Roy Orbison's "In Dreams" was scary.

4. Dune is good
It's not his best but he did a terrific job considering the pressure from Herbert fans and the studio. It's still better than that mini series from the sci fi chnnel.

He got the tone of the novel just about right I think.

5. Far better than the mini-series....
Edited on Fri Mar-05-04 05:21 PM by foamdad
I had read Dune before seeing the film and Lynch pretty much pegged the way I'd thought it would look. That said, I hope the SCI-FI channel does an adaptation of "God Emperor of Dune", it was my fav after the original novel.

His other films are OK. A little self-serving, but OK.

6. i never understood the fanboy ire for "dune"....
...it was problematic but i thought the art direction and tone were incredibly well-conceived. and the longer director's cut is far more enjoyable than the theatrical release.

that said i voted for "blue velvet" and "mulholland drive" and "elephant man" are very close seconds for me.
