On DU.1 I wondered why I got so few replies to what I thought was an excellent article. Somebody answered that just because someone didn't post a reply, that didn't mean that they hadn't read it. I guess this new feature bears that out. Well, here's my reply. And I am enjoying the polls, too. At least, most of them.:-)

I read a lot of threads/posts, but I only reply if I have an opinion or information to add that I haven't seen someone else supply.


In this case, I am adding information not contained in your poll options, so I had to reply.

edit: and sometimes I click on a thread just to see what it's about.
I just looked at the "I'm with Busey" thread - apparently it is about a tv show; who knew? not those of us who don't own televisions.

I posted over in LBN this morning, and have gotten ZERO replies. Under DU1, I would have thought that nobody gave a crap. But, under DU2, I see that over 200 people have READ my little thread. So, at least they're interested...

I think it's probably the best new feature. A lot of times I just read but don't really have a comment. Sometimes the post says all that needs to be said. It's cool that people can now at least realize that people read what they said, even if they didn't have a comment to make about it. This is especially true of LBN.

15. I've noticed this too.

what is interesting is the varying ratio of replies to views. It is usually around 1 to 10 but is anywhere from 1 to 100 to 1 to 5.
I haven't voted in your poll BTW.
