Great new TV channel with Japan TV shows in English
NHK World is a channel I just discovered (WNVT 53.2 in NOVA). You can also watch online at this link:
http://www.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/

All the shows are in English and include news, travel, cooking, Japanese lessons etc.

On TV, I believe it's only available (in the US) in Virginia, Minnesota and some cable outlets.
