Good morning Lounge
Hello everyone? How are you doing today?

My phone is still dead. I called the company again when I came home last night. They told me there was a short circuit in my line and that they will call me to make an appointment for a technician to come and fix it. So if you want to reach me please call me on my cell :)

I hope they do too. I mean I am glad I have my cell and am reachable. But it is still annoying. Strangely enough my Internet is working, even though it is the same line

3. My aunt just asked me what Yogi and I were talking about.
I asked her what she meant. She said we were carrying on a full conversation with each other. I said, "Yeah?" She said she had never heard a cat answer a person like a real conversation before.

Also, we had a light dusting of snow yesterday morning, which is very rare where I live. BOTH of my cats wanted to come look out the door at it. It's a major event when it snows for them to come to the door and look out at it and sniff it. What's so strange about that is that they normally never get near the door leading outside and Sunday Girl, the oldest, hates the cold. Yet, she stood there with her eyes wide open and bright as they could be looking at the snow. My aunt said it's because I like it, they pick up on that.

Anytime I ask my step dad why my pets are the way they are around me, he says animals pick up the habits and personalities of their owners. He said that was why Domino always went into the pet carrier on her own when I had surgery and he looked after my cats for me for 2 days. He always called her "Don't touch me!" after that. He also said the neurotic schnauzer I used to have, River, was so neurotic and crazy and drooled all the time. He took after me.

I petted one dog this week. Both of the ones that always yap at me when I could outside are neighborhood dogs. I'm not sure if they belong to anybody. There is a female dogs that is about the size of a lab and a little yappy one that is half her size. She and her little buddy decided my outdoor garden hose hookup looked JUST LIKE the PERFECT STICK to play fetch with.

Consequently, they grabbed it and took off running. Guess what? I had a geyser in my yard. I had to do some plumbing. Both dogs came up to me while I was fixing it as if to apologize. I petted the female for the first time. One of the neighbor's dogs, who normally never leaves the yard, saw it. The next day, I stepped out to go check the mail, and the little yappy dog and the neighbor's dog were standing there wagging their tails at me. Somehow, I am now the OFFICIAL neighborhood dog petter.

4. Are you a pet whisperer?
:wow: you really have a connection to animals. Maybe you need to make a profession out of it.

So what were you and Yogi talking about? :)

5. We were talking about what would be good for lunch after my aunt
gets some sleep. He wants homemade hamburgers on toasted loaf bread again. He loves beef. Sunday Girl doesn't. She likes ham and fish. They both like chicken though. We'll probably have the hamburgers again today though, because I still have half a bowl of Texas Pete chili left over from yesterday. I don't want it to go to waste.

Animals really do seem to interact with me, even wildlife watches me in the yard. There used to be a squirrel at our old place that we called Cyclops. She would take seeds and plant them all over the yard while I was planting my garden. She had corn growing in one spot, a cantaloupe in another spot and sunflowers in random spots. My aunt watched us from the bathroom window. She said that squirrel followed me around the yard all the time and noticed she was planting that day too. That's how I found out she was taking seeds and burying them while I was busy in my little garden. I started watching out of the corner of my eye, and sure enough, she was planting seeds too. She did it every year for about 5 years. She quit coming around on the 6th year. We don't know what happened to her, but we thought it might have been old age. We missed her.

Animals really do like me a lot, even when they first meet me. I like them too.

to start your day! Couldn't you just dump them over the balcony? :silly:

I'm SO tired -- yawning so that my eyes water. Would love to get a little more sleep, but it's almost time to get up anyway.

I learned a valuable lesson yesterday: Don't close the utility knife until you're sure your finger is out of the way. Still bleeding through the bandage and hurts like hell ... interfering with my typing. :(

What a lovely picture! Where is it from?

I'm sorry about your phone. Maybe it is time to get rid of the house phone and only keep the cell? It would save money anyway.

The gas and electric guy came yesterday at 1:00pm and took about 10 minutes to change the battery on the meter, so I had basically the whole afternoon to myself, which was awesome.

28. Good morning blueraven
I took it in Potsdam, in the Dutch Quarter. Here is a link to it http://www.potsdam.de/cms/beitrag/10000968/34055/

It is cheaper for me to have a home phone. I have a flatrate that also includes the U.S. (I pay some extra for it). I am more thinking about changing my cell to pay-by-call. I barely use it.

Good for you!!! :D So what did you do?

30. I wish we had more beautiful areas here in the U.S.
I don't mean to say that it isn't pretty here...more that in Europe it seems that more care was taken in constructing really beautiful spaces, even for relatively unimportant areas. I think that sort of makes sense.

I totally understand the cheaper issue. I've been thinking about getting rid of my home phone because basically I'm paying an extra $30 for a service I don't use. That's the only reason I brought it up. :D

Unfortunately I didn't do what I should have done, which was take a nap. I worked so hard to stay up until bedtime that when I finally got in bed I was no longer tired, and I woke up at least 4 times throughout the night (although at least two of those times were because of a restless cat). I did some reading, cleaned my bathroom, did dishes, that sort of thing. Not really the break I should have made it. :silly:

32. In East Germany
a lot of old buildings weren't taken care of. They started to crumble and almost vansihed. After the re-union of Germany a lot of money went there to restore the old buildings. The Dutch Quarter were one of it.

You got stuff done, that is good :) I bet your cat was happy that you were home. Or did he/she feel disturbed by it? :)
I finished iron some bed sheets yesterday evening. I am so proud of myself

even if they are easier to stack. I think I'm going to have to break down on the no iron thing sooner rather than later. I have a gorgeous table cloth that my grandmother embroidered during the 1940s, but it's linen and to use it, I have to iron it. I'll probably want to use it pretty soon, so the iron will be bought. Although, now that I think about it, maybe I'll just take it to the dry cleaners. :D
