1. I love Oregon.
Grew up there; my family still lives there.

It's beautiful, just like Washington. The west side of the Cascade mountains is green and gorgeous. The eastside is more arid, but just as beautiful.

Much of the coastline.

Oregon also produces the best pinot noir wines in the world.

4. My dear Tom Kitten!
I've been there, and there's a couple of places that I think are among the most beautiful on the planet:

Crater Lake, which is so beautiful there are hardly any words or pictures that do it justice.

Cannon Beach...My parents, my brother and I had our very first family vacation there, back in the 1950's, and we had a ball...

Having you live there is just the icing on the cake!

Its been a while since I've been there, last time I was there I was visiting an aunt, and carrying all my mothers crap, that she got from Klackamus(sp I know) mall.

10. Ha, I can never remember how to spell
the name right...If I'm remembering right, they had an indoor ice skating rink as well...its been a while, probably 15 yrs or more since I've been there, usually going to Portland, Eugene, and The Dalles, sometimes Pendelton.

11. I've never been to the Clackamas Mall, but I used to go to
the shopping center near The Rose Garden, where they had an outdoor rink in the middle of it. Lived not too far from here.

14. it's no longer Clackamas Town Center Mall...
...I learned yesterday. It's now called Happy Valley.

And it's nearly dead. The parent corporation is in bankruptcy.

9. The marked lack of nasty wildlife
in the Willamette valley is a pretty serious plus.

The weather is generally pretty good, and with the exception of this year, generally lacks any serious snow. Another plus.

I met my wife here. My Canadian wife. Double plus.

13. What's not to like about Oregon?!
Edited on Thu Feb-05-09 03:32 AM by Breeze54
I used to read a lot of books about the pioneers and Oregon was always the main theme and

I LOVED it! :D

I have never been there but I've been close and it's just beautiful country! :D

It's a shame you haven't gotten back to all of us in this thread.

Is everything OK?

18. everything's OK don't worry about me!
I'm super powerful and remarkably adaptive on top of that! To be honest I have trouble with internet connections...my neighbor who let me piggyback on her signal moved at theend of last month and here I am trying to post regularly without a steady link! That's why I don't reply so fast and it really irritates me as well as you and other readers!

PS I live really near where the pioneers stopped...Oregon City, which man people compare to a miniature Pittsburgh!
