I'm not the biggest Stern fan out there, but lately this guy is on a major crusade and boy oh boy is he good. I guess the FCC is going to go after him for a bit he did THREE YEARS AGO and are also looking to go after Bono again for the "f" word he used at the awards show.

Stern seriously thinks this time the FCC will get him off the air and is strongly encouraging EVERYONE to vote Bush out of office. He's also going after "The Fellowship" which is suppose to be some powerful religious group that helps fund low cost beautiful homes for religious politicians like Sam Brownback.

He's on fire - let's give him some support especially to his advertisers!!

2. I agree....I can see people not being fans of his...
..and from what I've heard he is still doing some of the lower common denominator stuff.

But he is really going off lately and with a lot of information at his fingertips. This is going to be big.

I hope a lot of people on the left will see what is going on with him as an opportunity and not blow it by being judgemental and I hope Kerry does not blow this by trying to appeal to conservatives by denouncing stern. His audience is the perfect example of swing voters and to alienate them will be political death. Bush has, and as of now Kerry hasn't. I just pray that Kerry doesn't use Stern for his Sister Souljah moment.

4. Im listening mornings also
While I know Stern likes to pull punches on his listeners, I do believe he's being straight up with this issue. I haven't listened to him in years but he's almost a must now

5. The media is not supporting him
One of his rants -- rightly so -- is the mainstream media is afraid to touch the story, and is ignoring what is happening. Also, that the station or Infinity or the show is not being sued or even brought before a hearing, so there is no way to defend or appeal.

He salient point...the only "reward" the media will get for not backing Stern will be a knock on their own doors by the Ashcroft goon squad. And he is absolutely correct.

8. He won't do live feeds because it hurts his advertisers
The man is very loyal to those who pay to advertise on his show. But he has talked about going XM if he's tossed off the radio. If he does I'll buy XM

They had him on here in Indiana for a bit, but he couldn't compete against our local DJs, Bob & Tom, who are also in syndication across the country.

10. Go Howard but...
...his war mongering at the start of the Iraq occupation was disgusting.

11. I give him credit for one thing....
He was honest about it. He never tried to spread disinformation. I disagreed with him vehemently but at least he was honest about why he thought we were doing it (to send a message) rather than false claims about wmds like so many other pro-war pundits. Plus, whether we like it or not, a good chunk of people mirror his views in a lot of ways (pro strong national security and war, but liberal socially).

12. Darn it. Only one station in Texas carrying it, and it's 350
miles away. I might be able to get it if Houston carried it.

13. Ah...
He never tried to spread disinformation.

Actually Howard spread tons of disinformation, mostly having to do with Former President Clinton whom he branded a coward in the most base terms possible.
Also directly blamed the 9-11 attacks on the Big Dawg...I heard Howard say this on numberless occasions.
***
I feel for Howard ever so slightly, he was the biggest war-supporter on the air for three years...all that truckling and look what it got him.
Sad really.
The notion that we liberals can do something on his behalf now that Howard has changed sides is fallacious though...we don't control the F.C.C. we don't control Infininty Broadcasting and the relevant committees in congress are ruled by wowsers and money grubbing GOP dirt bags....game set and match.
Howard ran down the liberals mercilessly for years...now he is in trouble and begging the corpse of national liberalism for help.
If he hadn't killed us, maybe we could help...but now it's too late.
But I wish him well, hope he can get back on the air in Florida and Pennsylvania...we could use the help in the fall.
My hopes though, are pinned on Al Franken to get the radio situation turned around.

14. I tried yesterday.
I turned the station to Stern and he did a very nice job of criticizing Bush.

However, the next part was a discussion with Snoop Doggy Dogg and his uncle. Howard kept pressing for information about pimps and hos and bitches and how to oppress women.

Sorry. I actually liked what he says about politics (that I've heard), but the rest isn't enjoyable at all.
