why SHOULDN'T I take the day off tomorrow?
yeah yeah yeah

I know, I've thought about it. I have very little vacation leave saved up, and if I call in sick they'll hang me for being a lousy liar.

How can I take the day off respectably?

2. Is it worth it? Is it going to be a nice day? Do you have plans?
Hey, it's Friday! If you are posting on it, taking the day will bother you all day. Not worth it. Plan it to be worth something, get through tomorrow, and have a great next day off (I suspect you already knew this. Goodnight, and sweet dreams).

5. Well, you nailed it
Friday? Hell, it's easier on my mind to just go in and go through the motions than it would be to not show up.

I'm a real trooper!

10. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again.
With apologies to Fred Astaire. Off to bed now, but get through it, trooper - you will be glad you did. Then, come back and tell us about it, and whether you did the right thing! Betcha you will be glad you did. Then, plan a really worthwhile day to call in sick, and tell us about that, too. Good luck!

8. I'd call in sick.

They're your hours. You earned them. And besides... how is "sick" defined in this context? The definition is wiiiiiide open.

Just think about it.. you can sleep in so late! Wake-up and take a nice, long, hot shower. No rushing. You can lounge on the couch all day long, eating your favorite snack foods. You can get some housework done so that you weekend is free.. laundry, dishes, mopping, dusting, vacuuming. Play some loud music while the suckers who live next door are out slaving at work. It'd be soo nice, wouldn't it?

And you'd be able to spend some time catching-up on the minute details of politics here at DU!

I have tomorrow off.
