Not only the best defense in the league, but the best offensive pocket for Ben.

16. Obama's team won and no puppy for Kurt Warner's Kids
Sharing a loveseat with his wife, Brenda, in the living room of their suburban Phoenix home late Sunday night, having endured a long day’s worth of pressure from the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC championship game, the Arizona Cardinals’ Super Bowl-bound quarterback made a proclamation that even President-elect Barack Obama didn’t dare utter in his household.

“No puppy,” Warner said, provoking immediate resistance from Brenda and 17-year-old daughter Jesse, the second oldest of the couple’s seven kids. “It’s not gonna happen.”

“Dad, you promised,” Jesse said. “Remember?”

“I never promised that.”

“We are so getting a puppy if you win the Super Bowl,” Brenda said, smiling like someone who knows she’ll get her way. “Just like you said we would.”

Look at the past decade: the Buccaneers, Seahawks, Cardinals, and Panthers, all teams that never made it before, each had a shot. I think the Browns could threaten with the proper guidance.

That was horrible...and it was fucking caught ON camera!!

And on a side note, bearly squeaking out a win by only 4 points over a team that was only 9-7 in their regular season doesn't say a whole lot about the Steelers. Just IMHO.

47. Up until that I was really into the game... after that point I lost interest and went to listen
to music... that turned me off of football for a while. Glad it's the off season now. The fact that he was NOT ejected from the game, even if only as a symbolic gesture, is a big black mark against pro football in my opinion.

58. Good gravy marie, it's not as if he killed the guy, or even injured him.
It was a dick move, he got penalized, and I agree he should have been thrown from the game. To portray it as some indelible mark upon pro football is a bit hyperbolic. Players in the "good old days" of football got away with worse, much worse.

I came within 4 points of predicting the greatest upset of the SB era...back in the first round of the playoffs. :P

I'll go so far as to make this follow-up prediction. The Cardinals will win a Super Bowl before the Steelers make it to another one. Congrats to the Steelers on having won the most SB thus far, I wouldn't want to be tied with the Cowboys either.

83. This isn't a gloat response, only a congrats to my Steelers,
They didn't play the greatest of games but they made the plays when they had to. That's all that matters.

The Cards played the game of their lives. They have nothing to be ashamed about. Leave it at that. The refs didn't cost them that game. The challenge on Ben's run saved them 4pts. Last year under the same review system would have been inconclusive and the ruling on the field would have stood. Touchdown Pittsburgh. The block on Hightower on Harrison's run was legal. Lamar Woodley hit him on the shoulder, not in the back. Cards fans should ask Larry Fitzgerald why he ran through the sideline and in the process ran into Antrelle Rolle which cost him the ability to catch Harrison before he got to the goal line. The safety called on Hartwig I though was legit as was the personal foul calls on Harrison for mugging Francisco and the call on the roughing the holder. As for the "too many holding calls" on Arizona, maybe their fans should ask why they decided to go one on one against Pittsbughs two best pass rushers in Harrison and Woodley. I don't know why play wasn't stopped for the last review on that fumble. I've heard that the replay booth comfirmed right away that it was indeed a fumble, but they should have reviewed it anyway.

Things that weren't called but should have was Holmes' Lebron celebration. That's against the rules. But that's about it.

Pittsburgh made the plays when the game was on the line. End of story. Ben makes a great throw and Santonio makes an even greater catch. That's the story of the game from my own little biased perspective.
