that was the first song that popped into my head before I opened the post..its one of the most frequently covered songs by punk bands!! :hi:

3. The hit version of "Wipe Out" was by the Surfaris, not the Ventures.

Still one of the coolest drum solos ever, though!

5. FWIW, my personal fave is "The Savage," a non-charting single from '63.

Unfortunately, I didn't have room to include "The Savage" as I didn't think it would be fair to bump a charted single. Oh, well....

7. Walk Don't Run
My brother took me to a swim club on Labor Day 1960 when I first heard that song. I said to myself "This is a summer song." I also heard Sam Cooke's "Chain Gang" for the first time that day too. Funny how these things stick sometimes. I must have had a good time that day.
