Ultimate Bush years smackdown? ABC cues up remake of sci-fi series V

US network ABC has ordered a remake of V, the 1980s science fiction miniseries about alien lizards invading Earth, according to reports.

Scott Peters, the co-creator and executive producer of The 4400, is understood to be writing and executive producing the new programme. HDFilms principal Jason Hall will also be executive producer, while Warner Bros TV is producing the pilot episode.

In the new version of V, the main character is Homeland Security agent Erica Evans and, like the original, the plot focuses on alien visitors who claim to have benevolent motives.

The original V writer-producer Kenneth Johnson is not involved in the remake, according to Variety.

Hamster - eating at link. :hide:

I hope they don't water it down or change the meaning, as has happened lately. I'm looking at you Bewitched. OTOH, introducing a who new generation to invading nazi reptiles might be fun. :-)

2. That's what I'm afraid of
They'll find a way to make it less dark, more funny, less threatening.

The thing about V was that it was the anti-Star Trek
