They say there's nothing new under the sun? Well I took Pip to the vet today.
She had a tooth removed last week following a NASTY accident, and yesterday her stitches popped open.

I took her in today for the vet to look at her.

He looked at her gum, and said she was fine. And to come back in two weeks.

The magic?

It was FREE. Yes, FREE.

There IS a God, and He loves us.

1. Veterinarians and their staff are largely unappreciated.
Yeah, you've got the money mongers, but mostly they're good fucking people. And the vet techs bill with the gods.

2. Agreed
We had a new office move into the area. Their spay/neuter fees are near 3x as much as the old timer vet who is near retirement.

They do have very modern facilities and all though. I'll miss the vet that's been here since forever when he goes.

:hi:

3. We found our current vet through the recommendation of the local cat vet.

After $1000 bucks in the last month for Bailey's ears, Pippi's odd patches on her stomach, and Pip's injury, paying NOTHING is nothing short of magic.

4. It's shocking isn't it? I got that from our vet once, too - he told us to bring our
cat in for a checkup/treatment that turned out not to be necessary, then wiped out the charge and basically apologized for wasting our time due to his abundance of caution. I was like "WTF? I'd happily pay extra for abundant caution, but OK..."

Good vets seriously rock!
