10. I rent, so it's really not my problem.
Except that if it goes out I have to run and get a bag or two of ice.

Still, I'd like for it to make it long enough for the handyman to come frown at it for a few minutes and announce that its not worth fixing (I can tell them that- it's a POS base model, having a repairman out will cost half what it's worth as soon as he comes in the door) and order me another.

12. Yeah, I rent, too. And the same thing happened to me last summer.
The thing was defrosting itself, and sounded like it had a bad cough. Repairman showed up, deemed it worthless, and my landlord coughed up a new one.

Hope you soon get your new one, too. :)

Wonderful piece. Milos Foreman used it over the end credits of his film "Amadeus."

15. What would you say if I told you that I have played that very
same concerto in piano competitions? :)

Mozart was a complete lunatic, but his compositions were surefire ass-kickers in fine arts competitions.

18. I would say you're a very talented pianist. The 2nd movement is cool, and slow
except for a few Mozart-patented scale arpeggios halfway through. But the 1st and 3rd are tough. Did you play it without the orchestral accompaniment? Despite the handicap of not being able to play the piano, I tried to arrange the concerto for solo piano once. Didn't get past the first movement. You really need the strings to bring off that tense, mysterious opening section.

I love Mozart. I use him as study-music; that whole "Mozart makes you smarter" thing was debunked a while ago. But I still do it.

:hi: BeachBaby!

19. Mozart was clinically insane. I was convinced of that....
a long time ago. :P

No, I didn't play with orchestral accompaniment - I was all by myself on a concert grand, in various concert halls through my high school years. Unnerving. :scared: I'm glad those days are gone. :)

I also played a bit of Rachmaninov, and Khachaturian. My coach had a thing for the demented. :P

23. I don't know about Mozart and Rachmaninoff, but Khachaturian is certainly demented.
I think it is just Mozart's off-the-charts genius that makes him seem demented. When it came to his faith, Roman Catholicism, he was very sober and serious. His liturgical music bears this out. His Mass in C minor is one of the most astonishing things ever composed. I always thought of the piece as Mozart's way of saying: "Don't worry. God's got everything under control. Everything's cool."

And his letters as an adult to his father are certainly not demented. They are very lucid and rational. Now, his letters as a child; that's other thing. I remember reading one of his letters to his sister when he was away on tour telling her how excited he was to be coming home to her. He announced that he would kiss her "face, head, hair, hands, feet, and backside (if it is clean.)"
