I don't even know what I'd do with a 65" TV.
I stopped by Circuit City today to view their "liquidation" sale that's going on. I thought maybe I could score a good deal on a bigger monitor or something :eyes:.

ANYway, I found myself over where the big, obnoxious televisions are. There was this monster Mitsubishi 65" super hi-def somethingorother, and suddenly I found myself thinking "You know, $1200 seems like a good deal for that."

Of course I then snapped out of my hypnosis when reason (damn you, reason!) stepped in and walked me out of the store.

1. Punky Brewster is best viewed in Blu Ray, filling the peripheral vision.
You just don't know what you're missing out on.

As well as the note of encouragement, that I may live vicariously through your 65" Namaste Yoga experience?

11. For the hell of it
I just looked at Best Buy. Same set is $1500. Honestly, I'd pay the extra just so that I could get a warranty, etc. However, I cannot justify in this economy, the way things are, spending what would amount to $2000 on a television.

Edited on Fri Jan-23-09 07:32 PM by LeftyMom

Of course, I got mine for $500 at the aptly named Stupid Prices store.

The upside of that is that, when we eventually get around to living on the same coast, you can watch my TV.

16. Like most discount places, it's hit or miss.
My chaise and ottoman came from there for $219 for the set. Same shopping trip as the TV. But other times I find almost nothing. I went the other day and only got some organic canned tomatoes.

22. Yeah, it's over in the warehouse-y area behind the park.
That one is pretty good. The one on Arden is pretty small and it generally sucks. There's a pretty big one over on Madison that's where I found my TV and couch- it seems like they get more of the large items and are more likely to mark them down really far.

have that kind of space just for a TV...that is fucking insane...that is for someone who has a room that is dedicated solely to the purpose of viewing a screen that size! It's a whole other fucking room for fucks sake!!!

30. My sister and her family got one.
She got so nauseous that she couldn't watch it even from the other side of the room. She said she watches the 13" portable tv in her room.

She used to get sick on the merry-go-round riding a stationary horse...

27. I don't get it with the huge TVs either
I've got an old tube-style 30" TV right now. I'm thinking about stepping up to a flatscreen of some type. It's almost impossible to even find one that's below 32". I may end up getting a 36" just because I can't find any much smaller than that. My room isn't big enough to justify one bigger than that.

28. I just got out the yard stick
It wasn't big enough. I had to use math as well.

I also just learned that there are TVs as big as my TV plus my desk. Could you do multiple things on it at once? Say, use it as a giant L shaped monitor, while having TV running up in the top corner for your wife, instead of having to use 2 monitors to achieve the proper magnificence from ones computer, while also having a tv?
