I'm baaack....so I saw the new President sworn in....

well by saw, I mean occasional glimpses of his image on the jumbotron....What an event! I have NEVER seen so many people. And everyone was sooooo happy. I loved listening to the crowd on the mall chant OBAMA! It was funny though when both Dubya and Poppa Bush were introduced dead silence..(although W was roundly booed later) and then the crowd starting singing "na na na...hey hey hey..goodbye"! Some craziness trying to walk about..there were times when there was some worrying pushing and shoving but for the most part people were in great moods...Oh and my stupid batteries died so I have only a few pictures from the day (I really wanted to take a shot of huge crowds of people walking through tunnels and overpasses..quite something).
I also have some nice pics from the meetup last night that I took..I'll post those later....

5. VERY noticeable

Especially on the Subway...FBI agents in bullet proof vests doing crowd control as well!
Lots of national guardsmen around..constant helicopter flights overhead..and I was in the lower security area..on the Mall...I heard it took FOREVER to go through the security checkpoints for people with tickets..so in a sense, sitting on the mall was as good as some of the ticket holders...

14. In many ways I wouldn't have minded being around that kind of security

since I was so hoping none of the crazies would make a showing. Of course, we haven't given the news enough time to start making reports of anything happening, either. Hopefully, any "events" were minor.

I am watching some of the parade now and notice that their youngest is quite bored ;)

16. Cops were everywhere today...

I didn't venture downtown; but I had to drive up to Columbia this morning. I've never seen so many cops on the Beltway and on 95...most of them in unmarked cars and SUVs.

There was even one in my neighborhood, just hanging out in an area where, I've been told, there's a "White House furniture warehouse". I was skeptical about it when my friend told me; but now I wonder if they're right.
