Our new cat.

This morning my wife and I adopted a beautiful jet black cat who was rescued from the streets pregnant. She is a 10 month old female who has borne a litter of 4 and has been a wonderful mother to them. All have been adopted.

She was given the temporary name of "Matilda" by the shelter, but the day we adopted her gave her the name she'll have from now on--Hope.

Hope missed the swearing in but did manage to catch the end of the President Obama's inaugural speech, though she may have missed most of it because she was insisting on being fondled and stroked as our President spoke.

She will be loved and treasured for the rest of her life.

Hope is wonderful.
