2. Coming so soon after Tebow's win, Jesus is on a roll!!
I hope Jesus went to Vegas and bet big. Superstar that he is though, I bet Jesus bets online.

3. When he bets on the Cubbies, it'll be in person, though.
Miracle 'n all that, y'know...

4. Nah, the other bidders will see and the spread will crash.
Jesus wants to hit it big, so he might have to send an Apostle or something. ;)

17. On a roll, indeed.
Tebow. McCoy. Warner. Sully. And Tuesday, Barack. Seems to me that someone, somewhere, is beginning to exert a positive influence on the affairs of this nation. Bring it on, I say.

5. this is why i can't stand the cardinals
if anyone else was QB I'd probably cheer on the NFC winner in the superbowl.

you think perhaps Jesus has better things to do then worry about a football score?

6. pretty much what i told my ex girlfriend
when she came crying to me after her latest man threw her aside. she told me that she'll let gawd lead her to her soulmate. i told her point blank that as master of what you purport to be reality, i'm sure that gawd has much more important matters to attend to than worrying about if you'll find the perfect man. let's face it, running a plane of existence is not a job for a pissed off office temp late for a coffee break. i mean let's face it, the lord helps those that help themselves after all...

side note, re: the ex, i had tried to remain friends with her, since she's not a bad person, but the more her life spiraled out of control, the more she became a rabid jesus jockey. she was aware of my lack of faith in her version of god, but proceeded to rub her belief in my face. after 3 break up with her devolving more and more into i fundy, i dropped the hammer on her (see above for the hammer). she hasn't spoken to me since.

as to the cardinals and that putz warner, there is a time and place for everything. if you want to thank some imaginary sky buddy for your win, fine... but last time i checked, he wasn't on the team. there are about 50-60 players and coaches that deserve the thanks first.

33. I though Rothlesberger was huge on Jesus.
It's the rare occurrance in fact when athletes, particularly football players, aren't.

7. Give it a rest
You aren't an evangelical Christian, and Warner's overt faith annoys you. Tough luck. I'd rather the guy be authentic if annoying then have him play nice just to keep people content.

Besides, he's not saying that Jesus helped design a post pattern to Breaston on 3rd and 7. He is expressing his subservience to God; he is saying that his strength comes as a gift from his creator, not from his innate superiority as a person. It's actually a very humble thing for an elite athlete to say when you see it in those terms.

9. I find it quite ironic that "non-believers" constantly have to mouth off...
about how much it annoys them when people profess their faith.

They are 10 times more fucking annoying than the bible thumpers.

10. Yeah, I hate it when atheists are thumping their chests
after scoring touchdowns or winning the big game, etc.

The NFL should institute a new rule forbidding "non-believers" from expressing their "non-faith" on the field. It's quite the annoyance.

The first time the Super Bowl MVP thanks the Flying Spaghetti Monster or, better yet, Ceiling Cat for making all things possible.

16. Nah, I'm really not.
Nevertheless, Warner, despite his on-field proselytizing, is a great player and a borderline Hall-Of-Famer. Truthfully, who he chooses to thank is no one's business but his, and I have no problem with it.

23. i agree with you on the authentic nature of the shout out to god.
however i would like to hear kurt give thanks to god when he throws 5 interceptions and stinks the joint out (sort of like when a certain new england football team destroyed him all those years ago.)

20. Kurt Warner is a lousy role model
For Pete's sake, he spent a year playing in Amsterdam and didn't even partake of the red-light districts. What kind of lousy judgment is that?

21. Roethlisberger's pretty religious, too
Jesus has two weeks to make up his mind about which of his buds is going to win.

But honestly, as a fan of one of the teams involved, I'm really hoping for a standard football game and not one where some god or the other toys with the outcome.

when he "endoed" that Hayabusa over the hood of that old lady's car, and he emerged without any kind of permanently disabling injury?
