Find Vintage Calendars for Reuse
By Jason Fitzpatrick

As a result of the rotation of months and days in a calendar year, you can use calendars from past years. Spice up your wall with a little vintage fun.

<...>

If you're looking to grab a vintage calendar for 2009, the chart to the right shows a few of the compatible years. If you're extra motivated you can even create little charts for several years into the future to keep in your wallet and always be prepared to snatch up any cool vintage calendars you come across. Some places to keep your eye out for calendars: garage sales, flea markets, eBay, Craiglist, and of course the garages and attics of your pack-rat friends and relatives. Photo by Zawezome.

1. Very, very cool; as a thrift store aficianado, I had never thought to do this
but will definitely do so now.

Thanks for the link!

2. That is neat idea.
I just bought an old calendar from 1968 (the year of my birth) to display. I never thought of using vintage calendars for the current year. Interesting.

4. Cool
If I had one for my birth year I could be using it right now!

6. It's because...
Time keeps on slippin, slippin, slippin. Into the future...

7. I know what you mean.
I graduated from high school in 1999 and it seems like the time has just flown by since then. In June it will be 10 years. Gawd I feel old.

9. That woulda been my class, had my birthday not been right on the cusp.
Edited on Sun Jan-18-09 08:45 PM by DarkTirade
They decided to hold me back a year in kindergarden because of that. Which is just as well, since my mom got remarried shortly after that and I had a stepbrother within 3 months of my age. Had we been forced to share a bedroom AND a grade, we probably would have killed each other before puberty. :P

13. It only gets worse.
Because we perceive time logarithmically. Every year seems shorter. Your thirties will go by even faster than your twenties. It's like a slide rule where the bigger the number the more they are squished together:

30 is to 20 as 45 is to 30. In fact, continuing with the 1.5 scale:

20
30
45
67.5
101.25

Perceptually, those ages are equidistant.
