A question to hippies
what song is playing in the Homer Simpson gets high episode as he's shaving? It's bothered me ever since and since I'm watching that Peter Fonda infomercial I'm thinking of that song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VwzRRYigKc

At about 1:30 is the shaving scene which has haunted me since this episode aired.

3. From the comments in the YouTube page
it's either Strawberry Alarm Clock or Donovan. The way you specified "shaving," that seems to be about when the Donovan song starts.

6. It was both
Strawberry Alarm Clock and Donovan. Two different songs kinda blended.

7. That was the theme music for a line of hippie cosmetics — or maybe it was shampoo
Edited on Sun Jan-18-09 03:47 PM by Oeditpus Rex
around 1970.

I think they were called Love's Soft somethinorother.

Edit: And when I say "hippie cosmetics," I mean "poser hippie cosmetics," since real hippies didn't mess with crap like that.

10. It was the song used in the advertisement
for Herbal Essence Shampoo when it was first introduced.

9. At first it's "Incense and Peppermints" by the Strawberry Alarm Clock
Edited on Sun Jan-18-09 06:16 PM by cletustakethewheel
which goes into "Wear your love like Heaven" by Donovan.

(Sheesh, I'm not even old enough to have been a true 60s hippie and I knew this one...)
