I can't get my hair cut, because I need to get my hair cut.
Edited on Thu Jan-15-09 05:10 PM by LaraMN
My hair is SO damaged that I'm too freaked out to go to my hairstylist.

The last time I was there, he yelled at me and told me to stop heat styling my hair and trimming my own bangs, and he also said something in Russian that sounded like it probably meant "asshole dumbshit!" or something like that.

I did not stop heat styling my hair, and I trimmed my bangs and possibly some parts that were not my bangs, and my hair is a hundred times worse than the last time I went in.

I need it cut SO badly but I can't go back there, and I don't trust anyone else to cut it!

Disaster!
No!

your heat styling may have damaged more than your hair.

He'll just yell and you again and then make you look way better.

with the thought that a new hairdresser would have to at least initially be nice to me.

19. The new hairdresser will likely check their
bad hair book and rat you out to your old hairdresser and THEN yell at you also.

14. Um, so does he think those of us who heat style our hair need to start
rolling it in little pink curlers and sleeping through the night with them?

My hair takes forever to dry, even with a hair dryer, and if I don't use a curling iron, it just kind of hangs there in a big poof.

What IS a girl to do?

I have been on short term disability since the end of October. I figure it's hair and it doesn't need cut, I guess. I'll try to wait until I have a little bit more money.

30. One of the reasons I love the guy who cuts my hair is that he's CHEAP
and does a fantastic job!
It's about $13 +tip for a cut. I've paid three times that much elsewhere and been less pleased w/ the outcome.

47. ask him to recommend some product
show some kind of interest in mitigating the damage you are doing and he might be mollified. But please stop cutting your own hair. I see that you need to use heat(and product may help)but the cutting is just saying "up yours" to him.

34. Find someone else!
I had a really young dimwit once who asked me what I used on my hair. I used dep and she made a comment about me getting with the times and getting out of the 80's!! I was soooo insulted - all she wanted to do was sell her expensive crap to me. BTW, everything she said about dep was wrong (I ran home and read the labels and apparently dep kept with the times too).
This kid also gave me one of the worse haircuts ever.

43. Here's what I did.
I went to one of those cheapo places just to get a trim. Paid $12. She didn't give me a hard time about the fact that I OBVIOUSLY hacked at my own hair in the shower. Now that my hair is all even, I'll be able to face a stylist. :)
