5. Looking at the jobs posted everywhere there are jobs posted
it's worse now than it was last fall. One agency that had dozens of jobs last fall has one. ONE. And it's not in my area of expertise.

And my former employer is fighting my unemployment claim.

11. Thanks.
My mom's still going through cancer treatments, so I haven't told them yet. I won't be able to pay the rent for February and I'm behind in my utility bills. Things will start getting turned off soon. My credit cards have already threatened to cancel me. I paid Lelapin's tuition the week before they laid everyone off.

I'll call Ohio State and see if there are any resources. Don't hold your breath though. They're notoriously hard to deal with if you can even get through.

Damn.

Call the 866 number and it gives you all the info, then press 0 to talk to a real person who will tell you what to do in your area.

Jobs supposedly start in Feb but most start in April til sometime in the fall.

The engine light, which had gone out when the battery was replaced, has come back on. No idea why. No $$ to find out why.

I'm going to tell my parents tonight. The bill collectors are hounding me. I'll probably be hauled in to court for breaking my lease. I've got 2 pills left that I take for anxiety attacks and just a couple puffs left in my rescue inhaler. Both require a doctor's visit to refill. I feel like I'm literally going to jump out of my skin. I was three weeks from FINALLY getting medical insurance.

I'm sure by the time the conversations over with my parents, I'll be selling or giving away most everything I own to move to Oregon. Unemployment's even worse there, but they won't listen.

Ten years ago, I quit my university job to start my own accounting practice. Two months later, my then-husband quit his job to finish his terminal degree. Left me with no income and no insurance. No safety net. Shortly after, it came out he was having an affair with a former grad student. Since then (divorce and all the insanity), I haven't been able to find my footing. All my supposed friends disapeared once I wasn't part of a couple. Too many holidays spent alone and no vacation for 10 years. No stability.

I'm not strong enough to keep starting over and over and over. I can't fight alone. Not any more.

I don't expect anyone to solve my problems. I just needed to vent.

Yes, I'd like to catch a break.

x(

36. Let me know how the talk with the folks goes.

If Mom is facing cancer she might appreciate having you around, more than you know even. I mean you would love it if lelapin was around in those circumstances, right? I know, I know... no adult likes having to go to the parent's house again. But it's not a permanent thing, just a stepping stone until you can catch a break and get your bearings again. Honestly I think you've lasted a lot longer out there on your own, with such bad luck, than most people would. You can be proud of that.

Meantime keep on the job hunt.

And check your PM.

42. I'll take that hug

I battle depression anyway. And winter and the stress of all this has really sent me in a spiral. I've been guarding the 2 pills I have left like gold - terrified to take them now as I might need them more later. I was so close to being able to go to the doctor with insurance and not have to fight the pre-existing condition crap.

I don't think a Doc-in-the-box will prescribe Klonapin and any other doctor will probably want multiple visits and may even want to try other meds. I can't afford all that, don't need all that and don't want all that.

My doctor in Columbus might prescribe it, but you can't call in or transfer a script for controlled substances to another state. (at least that's what I've been told.)

Bleh.

45. Sweetie....
We deal with the same issues....I went through a time when my MD was on vacation and the covering MD would not refill my perscription...I know what it feels like to cling to those pills.

I'm sure you're right about the doc not being able to call it into another state. My son went to Texas years ago, had raging panic, and our doctor tried to call in Xanax but they wouldn't do it. He then called it in at our local pharmacy so I could pick it up for him and mail it overnight. He knew that no doctor would give him Xanax with his long hair and tattoos...I'll never forget spending that night on the phone with my son...it was hell.
Our MD is a great humanitarian...and he jumped through hoops for us.

Is there a possibility that something like this could be worked out for you? Just a thought...
I know that the strife of life is so much harder when already dealing with anxiety and depression...
My heart goes out to you...

peace~

I'm hoping that if I get any interviews, I can take the time to see my old doctor. He actually has the drugs at the office and I can buy directly from him. He's a good man. He takes payments.
