Ever get the feeling that half the country wants to move forward with race

And the other half is being dragged kicking and screaming?

Some folks I know, Conservative folks, Republican Folks - are ecstatic about Barack Obama's election.

Not because of policy, although the recent appointments have quelled any taxaphobic fears they had...but because, in one of their words "We can be 100% genuine about explaining the American Dream to our kids now!"

Albeit this is a gross oversimplification, I do find it heartening that a good deal of America wants to move forward on the race issue.

Your thoughts?
